Four products, four ways of counting

These products are not billed the same way, because they are not used the same way. Operating a network is a monthly cost that grows with your hardware. Certifying a charger model is a project that ends. Roaming earns per session. Each is metered by the unit that actually reflects its value.

ChargePilot

operate mode

Metered by stations and chargers

You run a network, so cost tracks the assets in it. A station is a place; a charger is a physical unit at that place.

A station is a place — a site with an address. A charger is a physical unit at that place, with one or more connectors. Every ChargePilot plan, including Free, speaks full OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 and can start and stop a charge remotely.

TestPilot

test mode

Metered by charger model under test

Conformance testing is project-shaped: you validate a hardware model, ship it, and stop. So it is priced per charger model rather than per month of operation.

Prove the connection and read the log.

SimPilot

simulator

Metered by concurrent simulated chargers

One simulated charger on your laptop is a development tool and stays free. A hundred of them in CI is a load test, and that is what is priced.

HubPilot

roamingIn development

Metered by roaming partners and CDRs

Roaming earns when a session happens, so it is priced the same way: a fee per connected partner, plus a charge per detail record exchanged.

Most popular

Connect your network to other networks over OCPI 2.2.1.

Questions

Why is each product priced differently?

Because they are used differently. ChargePilot is a system you run continuously, so it is metered by the hardware you operate. TestPilot is a project that ends when your charger model ships. SimPilot is a development tool that costs us nothing until you run it at fleet scale. HubPilot earns when a roaming session happens. Charging all four by the same unit would overcharge some customers and undercharge others.

Do I need ChargePilot to use TestPilot?

No. They are independent. You can certify a charger model with TestPilot and never operate a network, or run a network on ChargePilot with hardware someone else certified.

What counts as a station versus a charger?

A station is a place — a site with a name and an address. A charger is a physical unit at that place that speaks OCPP, and it has one or more connectors. Five chargers in one car park is one station; five home garages is five stations.

What happens if I go over a limit?

Adding a station or charger beyond your plan is blocked, and we tell you which limit you hit. Chargers you already run keep working — we never cut off a live charging session because of a plan boundary.

Can I change plan later?

Yes, in either direction. If you downgrade below what you are using, your existing chargers keep working and reporting; you simply cannot add more until you are back inside the limit.

Can I self-host instead?

Yes. Everything is standards-based OCPP and runs on your own infrastructure if you prefer. Talk to us about a self-host arrangement.

When is HubPilot available?

It is in development. The OCPI 2.2.1 credentials handshake and partner registry exist; session and CDR exchange are being built. Register interest and we will keep you posted.

Not sure which plan fits?

Tell us what you are building — how many sites and chargers you run, or which charger model you need to certify. If a free tier covers you, we will say so.
